Luc Église -- 30-600 (Église primitive) Femmes prêtres Église catholique Femmes Femmes et Église catholique Lc 10,38-42, dès les années 85-90, peut apparaître comme l’un des premiers indices de la place et du rôle que sont susceptibles d'avoir tenu les femmes chrétiennes dans l'Église des trois premiers siècles. Les incertitudes sur la littéralité du texte et les remaniements qu’il a subis manifestent le caractère essentiel et particulier qui lui fut très tôt attribué ; ces difficultés textuelles témoignent des multiples interprétations que la péricope a reçues, entre parénèses et clarification d’un problème de ministères féminins. La littérature patristique, la documentation canonico-liturgique et les écrits apocryphes constituent trois "postes d'observation" privilégiés pour entrevoir une histoire de la femme chrétienne, en regard des mutations institutionnelles, au tournant des années 180-260. Parallèlement à ces mutations qui se dessinent dans la Grande Église, se met en place une restriction du rôle des chrétiennes tandis que, à la périphérie, celles-ci continuent à jouer un rôle important dans la communauté. La restriction des ministères féminins à l’époque apostolique n’a sans doute pas son origine uniquement dans la volonté de Jésus lui-même. Ce rétrécissement ne traduirait-il pas une coutume ecclésiale intimement liée à l’histoire de l’Église, plutôt qu’une fidélité à la Tradition ? Luke 10,38-42, as early as the years 85-90, can be seen as one of the first indications of the place and role which Christian women may have held in the Church of the first three centuries. The uncertainties concerning the letter of the text and the modifications it has undergone manifest the essential and particular nature attributed to this passage very early; this textual complexity bears witness to the multiple interpretations the pericope has received, from parenesis to a clarification of the question of women’s ministries. Patristic literature, canonico-liturgical documents, and apocryphal writings constitute three privileged vantage points to glimpse a history of the role of women in the Christian church, in relation to institutional transformations, in the years 180-260. Parallel to these transformations emerging in the Great Church occurs a narrowing of the role of women, while on the periphery, women continue to play an important role in the community. The origin of this restriction of women’s ministries during the apostolic period is undoubtedly not to be found in Jesus’ will alone. Should this reduction not be seen more in terms of ecclesiastical custom intimately linked to Church history, rather than of fidelity to Tradition?
