<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">Les entreprises engagées dans l’innovation font souvent face au défi de développer et de mettre en œuvre des idées et projets radicalement nouveaux qui ne concordant pas avec les routines et logiques établies de leur organisation formelle. En effet, ces idées et projets font face à des entraves internes les empêchant de voir le jour ou d’être mis à l’écart avant d’avoir atteint leur maturité pour devenir un projet de R&amp;D officiel visant la production et le lancement sur le marché. La recherché en gestion a récemment commence à décrire ces projets souterrains qualifies de bootlegging. Lorsque les employés développent des idées pour éviter leur fin prématurée et poursuivent leurs projets à l’ombre de l’organisation formelle, ils sont confrontés à des conditions d’intervention. Alors que la recherche préalable a fourni les premières descriptions du phénomène et a suggéré des antécédents, il y a un manque réel de compréhension du processus, particulièrement du transfert des projets de bootlegging, des défis que ces projets rencontrent, du changement d’identification organisationnelle des bootleggers et la manière de soutenir ces penseurs originaux. Ce travail a eu pour objectif d’améliorer notre compréhension du phénomène de bootlegging, particulièrement au sein d’une organisation intensive en technologie. Par conséquent, la question suivante a été abordée: Que peut-on apprendre des projets de bootlegging en se focalisant sur les défis rencontrés par les bootleggers et l’intérêt des organisations à soutenir les bootleggers? <dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">Companies striving for innovation often struggle to develop and implement radical novel ideas and projects that do not fit their established formal organization, logics or routines. Indeed, such ideas and projects face upcoming internal barriers due to which they are often not initiated at all or terminated internally before reaching maturity to become an official R&amp;D project for production scale-up or market launch. Management research has recently started describing these underground projects named bootlegging. Where entrepreneurial employees develop ideas to avoid premature termination and to pursue their projects ‘in the shadow’ of the formal organization they are faced with intervening conditions. While prior research has provided the first descriptions of the phenomenon as well as suggested some of its antecedents, there is a distinct lack of understanding of the process, especially the transfer, of bootlegging projects, and the challenges bootlegging projects face when surfacing, the organizational identification changes of these bootleggers and how to support these out-of-the-box thinkers. This research has aimed to increase the understanding of the phenomenon bootlegging, especially in a technology-driven organization.
