Notre point de départ était le constat d’un rapport de tension entre activité professionnelle de femmes et religiosité musulmane. Nous avons analysé comment ce rapport de tension se traduit dans les biographies et comment la manière de vivre instaure une compatibilité entre religion et travail. En comparant six cas contrastés via une méthodologie reconstructive (l’herméneutique objective) nous avons décelé trois types : « la conduite de vie avec une fusion de sphères », « la conduite de vie avec une séparation de sphères » et « la conduite de vie avec des frontières flexibles entre sphères ». Cette thèse montre différentes formes de conciliation entre religion et travail et constitue à ce titre un apport au discours scientifique sur l’intégration de femmes d’appartenance musulmane sur le marché du travail. This study focuses on the subject of conduct of life among Muslim women, from the second generation of migrants, and health and social professionals in France and Germany. Our starting point was the observation of a tension between women's professional activity and Muslim religiosity. We analysed how this relationship of tension occurs in biographies and how the conduct of life establishes a compatibility between religion and work. By comparing six contrasting cases drawing on a reconstructive methodology (objective hermeneutics) we identified three types: "life conduct with a fusion of spheres", "life conduct with a separation of spheres" and "life conduct with flexible boundaries between spheres". This thesis shows different forms of reconciliation between religion and work and is therefore a contribution to the scientific discourse on the integration of women of Muslim origin into the labour market.
