<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">Ces travaux de thèse concernent la synthèse et l’étude des propriétés photophysiques de fluorophores organiques basés sur un squelette 2-(2’-hydroxyphényl)benzazole (HBX) et présentant un processus de transfert de proton intramoléculaire à l’état excité (ESIPT). Ce phénomène leur confère des propriétés optiques remarquables, telles que d’importants déplacement de Stokes, la possibilité d’obtenir une émission duale et des rendements quantiques élevés à l’état solide. A l’inverse, cette phototautomérie entraîne une baisse des rendements quantiques en solution. Lors de ces travaux, une fonctionnalisation judicieuse du coeur π-conjugué a permis d’obtenir des émetteurs ESIPT présentant d’importants rendements quantiques en solution comme à l’état solide. Un second axe de recherche exploré consiste en la synthèse et l’étude des propriétés optiques d’une sonde ratiométrique modèle basée sur un squelette 2-(5’-hydroxybenzofuranyl)benzoxazole (HBBO) et présentant une émission duale E*/K*. Cette sonde a pour but la détection ratiométrique de cations Zn2+. Des titrages en absorption et en émission ont permis de mettre en évidence l’efficacité de cette sonde.</dcterms:abstract>
<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">This doctoral thesis concerns the synthesis and photophysical studies of organic fluorophores based on a 2-(2’-hydroxyphenyl)benzazole (HBX) backbone and exhibiting an Excited-State Intramolecular Proton Transfer (ESIPT). These dyes feature remarkable optical properties such as large Stokes shifts, the possibility of obtaining a dual emission and high quantum yields in the solid state. Conversely, this phototautomerism process leads to a drastic decrease of the quantum yields in solution. Functionalization of the π-conjugated core with ethynyl or aryl substituents opened the way to new ESIPT emitters with high quantum yields both in solution and in the solid state. A second focus of research consisted in the synthesis and photophysical studies of a ratiometric dual emissive probe based on a 2-(5’-hydroxybenzofuranyl)benzoxazole (HBBO) backbone for the ratiometric sensing of Zn2+ cations. Absorption and emission titrations demonstrated a gradual modification of the E*/K* in the presence of the substrate.</dcterms:abstract>
