<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">Dans le cadre de cette thèse, nous proposons une analyse exégétique et théologique du discours exhortatif de Paul en Rm 14,1–15,13, dans le contexte large de la lettre aux Romains et du christianisme naissant à Rome. Pour ce faire, après avoir rappelé les données principales du long débat existant notamment autour de l’identité socio-historique des « faibles dans la foi » et des forts (plan diachronique), sur laquelle subsistent encore des obscurités, nous exposons un commentaire sensible aux outils de la rhétorique ancienne (inventio, dispositio et elocutio), et en particulier de la « rhétorique paulinienne » (plan synchronique), pour saisir l’essentiel de la stratégie rhétorico-pastorale de médiation mise en place par Paul pour faire face à l’état de tension et de conflit, de mépris et de jugement, résultant des différentes pratiques des chrétiens à Rome, vers le milieu du Ier siècle de notre ère. Il s’agit en fait d’un appel réfléchi et raisonné, qui mêle exhortation et théologie, impératif et indicatif de la foi, pour motiver et favoriser l'accueil mutuel, en vue de l’adoration commune et de la gloire divine, à l’instar de Dieu et du Christ, véritables exemples d’accueil sans conditions de tout croyant.</dcterms:abstract>
<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">In the framework of this thesis, we propose an exegetical and theological analysis of Paul's exhortative discourse in Rom 14,1–15,13, in the broad context of the letter to the Romans and of emerging early Christianity in Rome. To this end, after recalling the main data of the long-standing debate on the socio-historical identity of the “weak in faith” and the strong (diachronic plan), on which some obscurities still remain, we expound a comment sensitive to tools of ancient rhetoric (inventio, dispositio and elocutio), and in particular to “Pauline rhetoric” (synchronic plan), in order to grasp the essence of the rhetoric-pastoral strategy of mediation set up by Paul to deal with the state of tension and conflict, contempt and judgment, resulting from the different practices of Christians in Rome, around the middle of the first century AD. It is, in fact, a thoughtful and reasoned appeal, which combines exhortation and theology, the imperative and the indicative of faith, to motivate and foster mutual acceptance, with a view to common worship and divine glory, like God and Christ, true examples of unconditional acceptance of every believer.</dcterms:abstract>
