Cette thèse a pour objectif de combler un vide terminologique au sein des classifications portant sur les relations nation-religion dans le monde. Elle émet l’hypothèse que l’État d’Israël demeure un cas sui generis et que la relation nation-religion qui s’y développe doit être redéfinie selon un concept nouveau : la désincarnation. L’enjeu fut de démontrer l’historicité de ce concept en vérifiant une seconde hypothèse, selon laquelle la désincarnation aurait pris racine dans la pensée de l’historien juif allemand Heinrich Graetz. A l’aide de références théoriques pluridisciplinaires ainsi que de sources et travaux centrés sur Graetz et son environnement intellectuel, les hypothèses de départ se sont avérées exactes. Cette thèse propose également le terme désincarnation comme un concept générique pouvant être utilisé dans d’autres disciplines, ainsi qu’une nouvelle classification des régimes politiques en fonction de leur rapport avec la religion.
This thesis aims to fill a terminological vacuum within the classifications of nation-religion relations in the world. It hypothesizes that the State of Israel remains a sui generis case and its nation-religion relation must be redefined according to a new concept: disembodiment. The issue was to demonstrate the historicity of this concept by verifying a second hypothesis, according to which disembodiment took root in the thought of the German Jewish historian Heinrich Graetz. Using multidisciplinary theoretical references as well as sources and works focused on Graetz and his intellectual environment, the initial hypotheses have been proven to be correct. This thesis also proposes the term of disembodiment as a generic concept that can be used in other disciplines, as well as a new classification of political regimes according to their relation to religion.
