Architecture -- Pratique La thèse s’intéresse à l’enseignement de l’architecture à l’École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs, anciennement École de dessin. Si à son origine, en 1766, l’architecture, en son sein, n’était qu’un enseignement de dessin et de culture architecturale, un siècle et demi plus tard, en 1922, l’École créa un diplôme d’architecte. Celui-ci diplôma 289 architectes entre 1922 et 1942, date à laquelle l’École se vit supprimer sa section d’architecture. À travers une histoire administrative et pédagogique, la thèse dégage une périodisation de l’enseignement de l’architecture au sein de l’École ; brosse le portrait de sa pédagogie architecturale et revient plus précisément sur trois moments importants : la décennie 1830 durant laquelle l’architecture prit son essor à l’École ; les années 20 et 30 où l’École connut l’apogée de sa formation architecturale avec la création de son propre diplôme ; et le début de la Seconde guerre mondiale où la section d’architecture de l’École fut supprimée. This PHd thesis is focused on the teaching of architecture at the Ecole nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs, formerly named Ecole de dessin de Paris. If, at its origin, in 1766, architecture was only a course of drawing and architectural culture, a century and a half later, in 1922, the School created a degree in architecture. The school graduated 289 architects between 1922 and 1942, when the architecture section was abolished. Through an administrative and pedagogy history, the thesis brings out a periodization of the teaching of architecture within the School ; paints a portrait of his architectural pedagogy and looks more specifically at three important moments : the 1830s when architecture was developped ; the 1920s and 1930s when the School reached the apogee of its teaching of architecture with the creation of its own degree ; and the start of World War II when the School's architecture section was suppressed.
