Ce travail de thèse propose d’essayer de vérifier l’hypothèse qu’il existerait une sémiologie profane et implicite des sciences. Après avoir établi un protocole expérimental mêlant la théorie sémio-pragmatique et l’ethnométhodologie, une étude qualitative menée sur un échantillon d’étudiants en sciences humaines et sociales et en sciences de la nature vient mettre en avant « ce qui fait science » pour ces étudiants. Quatre films de fiction sont utilisés comme prétexte à des discussions sur les sciences afin de faire émerger, au cours d’entretiens individuels et de séances de focus groups, les représentations que ces étudiants se font des sciences.
This thesis attempts to verify the hypothesis that there is a profane and implicit semiology of science. After having established an experimental protocol mixing semio-pragmatic theory and ethnomethodology, a qualitative study carried out on a sample of students in the humanities and social sciences and in the natural sciences highlights "what makes science" for these students. Four fiction films are used as a pretext for discussions on science in order to bring out, during individual interviews and focus group sessions, the representations that these students have of science.
