Cette thèse s’intéresse aux flux d’IDE chinois et indiens réalisés en Afrique centrale entre 2000 et 2019 en tenant compte de l’hétérogénéité des comportements des acteurs impliquées dans ces investissements. La thèse aborde la question de l’internationalisation des firmes dans une approche comparative afin d’analyser la complexité du phénomène en s’appuyant sur les interrelations et les différences qui pourraient exister entre les différents acteurs au cœur du phénomène étudié. La première étude comparative présentée dans cette thèse décrit les tendances des flux et stocks d’IDE indiens et chinois en Afrique centrale. La deuxième étude, essentiellement économétrique, apprécie sur le plan macroéconomique, le degré d’attractivité des IDE indiens et chinois, en tenant compte des spécificités socioéconomiques, politiques, institutionnelles et industrielles des pays d’Afrique centrale. La troisième, également économétrique, compare le dynamisme des acteurs dans les processus d’intégration des marchés africains et met essentiellement en évidence les points de convergence et de divergence dans les mécanismes d’internationalisation des firmes indiennes et chinoises vers l’Afrique centrale. Cette troisième étude s’attache également à l’étude du rôle et de l’expérience internationale des dirigeants et des partenaires dans la perception et la facilitation de l’exploitation des opportunités d’affaires offertes par les pays d’Afrique centrale. Au terme de ces trois études, la thèse confirme non seulement l’hypothèse d’un rapprochement des firmes de leur marché des inputs (mines, pétrole, agroforesterie), mais également celle de la présence d’autres facteurs (relations commerciales bilatérales, qualité des institutions, risques politiques, risques économiques, réseaux des firmes, expérience internationale acquise) susceptibles de faciliter, d’encourager ou de décourager, selon le cas, la réalisation des IDE indiens et chinois en Afrique centrale. During the first two decades of the 21st century, African countries, in general, and those of Central Africa, in particular, have recorded significant economic flows from China and India. By focusing specifically on Chinese and Indian FDI flows in Central Africa between 2000 and 2019 and taking into account the heterogeneity of the behaviors of the actors involved in these relations, this thesis addresses the question of the internationalization of firms in a comparative approach in order to analyze the complexity of the phenomenon based on the interrelationships and differences that could exist between the different actors at the heart of the phenomenon studied. To this end, the first comparative study presented in this thesis describes the trends of Indian and Chinese FDI flows and stocks in Central Africa. The second study, essentially econometric, assesses the macroeconomic level, the degree of attractiveness of Indian and Chinese FDI, taking into account the socioeconomic, political, institutional and industrial specificities of Central African countries. The third, also econometric, compares the dynamism of the actors in the process of integration of African markets and essentially highlights the points of convergence and divergence in the mechanisms of internationalization of Indian and Chinese firms towards Central Africa as well as the role and international experience of leaders and partners in the perception and facilitation of the exploitation of business opportunities offered by Central African countries. At the end of these three studies, the thesis confirms the hypothesis of a rapprochement of firms to their input market (mines, oil, agroforestry), and also that of the presence of other factors (bilateral trade relations, quality institutions, political risks, economic risks, networks of firms, acquired international experience) likely to facilitate, encourage or discourage, as the case may be, the realization of Indian and Chinese FDI in Central Africa.
