Elle cherche à mettre en lumière les principaux enjeux sociaux et politiques des différentes ontologies sociales processuelles qu’ils élaborent. Il s’agit de voir comment, à partir d’une matrice hégélienne partiellement commune mais intégrée dans des orientations théoriques différentes (pragmatisme instrumentaliste et naturaliste, ontologie matérialiste et dialectique, matérialisme historique lu à partir d’une phénoménologie existentielle), l’idée de processus fonctionne comme un point d’articulation entre une certaine conception du changement social (de sa nature et de son déroulement) et la promotion de certaines modalités d’intervention dans le changement social pour le contrôler. This thesis examines from a historical and conceptual perspective the social philosophies of John Dewey, Georg Lukács and Jean-Paul Sartre and their understanding of the direction of social change. It seeks to highlight the main social and political issues at stake in their different processual social ontologies. The aim is to see how a partially common Hegelian analytical framework ist integrated in different theoretical orientations (instrumentalist and naturalist pragmatism, materialist and dialectical ontology, historical materialism read from the point of view of an existential phenomenology) and how the idea of process works as a point of articulation between a certain conception of social change (its nature and its unfolding) and the promotion of certain modalities of intervention in social change in order to control it.
