<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">L’appel à devenir chrétien a été effectué en Afrique subsaharienne par les missionnaires occidentaux pendant la colonisation selon le triptyque : « christianisation », « civilisation » et « promotion de la patrie ». La mise en récit de ces représentations missionnaires de la bibliothèque coloniale installa la relation des évangélisateurs et des évangélisés dans une asymétrie de dominants à dominés. Mais la littérature africaine remet en cause le discours missionnaire en défendant la culture africaine. Les indépendances politiques et le concile Vatican II sortent la vocation chrétienne de cette conflictualité par la reconnaissance des capacités et valeurs des autochtones. L’effort d’appréhension de la foi chrétienne laisse néanmoins apparaître plusieurs difficultés et crises tant personnelles que collectives. Ainsi, de part en part, il apparaît dans les œuvres étudiées que de multiples enjeux, implicites et explicites, sous-tendent la vocation chrétienne en Afrique subsaharienne.</dcterms:abstract>
<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">The call to convert to Christianity in Sub-Saharan Africa was accomplished by western missionaries during colonisation according to the triptych: “Christianisation”, “civilisation”, and “promotion of county”. The narrative of these missionary representations in Colonial literature created an asymmetric relationship between missionaries and those whom they evangelised, that is, one of domination. However, African literature questions missionary discourse by defending African culture. Political independence and the Second Vatican Council (Vatican II) sought to resolve this conflicted relationship by recognizing the capacities and values of indigenous people. Nevertheless, the effort to understand the Christian Faith presents several difficulties and crises, both individual and collective. Thus, throughout the works studied, multiple challenges, both implicit and explicit, underly the question of conversion to Christianity in Sub-Saharan Africa.</dcterms:abstract>
