Cette thèse porte sur l’étude des patterns respiratoires en parole chez l’enfant, et leur « résistivité » face aux perturbations conséquentes aux divisions palatines. L’objectif de ce travail est d’examiner les stratégies compensatoires mises en place au niveau thoraco-abdominal pour pallier les déficits supra-glottiques. 19 locuteurs témoins et 25 enfants porteurs de fentes palatines ont été enregistrés. La variation des gestes respiratoires a été mesurée à l’aide de ceintures électromagnétiques disposées sur le thorax et l’abdomen. Les signaux respiratoires, synchronisés au signal de parole, permettent l’observation de la variation du périmètre thoraco-abdominal tout au long de la phonation. Les résultats révèlent que les stratégies compensatoires sont essentiellement mises en place lors de l’expiration, celles-ci étant plus importantes lorsque la fonctionnalité vélo-pharyngée est la plus sévèrement atteinte.
This thesis focuses on the study of respiratory speech patterns in children, and the "resistivity" of these patterns in the context of perturbations resulting from palatal divisions. The aim of this work is to examine compensatory strategies deployed at the thoracic and adbominal levels in order to compensate for supra-glottal deficits. 19 control speakers and 25 children with cleft palates were recorded. The variation of respiratory movements was measured using electromagnetic belts placed on the thorax and on the abdomen. The respiratory signals, synchronised with the speech signal, allow observing the variation of the thoracic-abdominal perimeter during phonation. Results show that compensatory strategies are mainly deployed during expiration, and that these strategies are more salient when the velopharyngeal functionnality is most severly affected.
