<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">Les neutrons sont parmi les principaux rayonnements secondaires produits auprès des accélérateurs de particules. Ils sont également utilisés dans de nombreuses applications telles que l’imagerie, la radiothérapie ou encore les techniques d’analyse élémentaires. Dans tous ces domaines, il est nécessaire de pouvoir caractériser les champs neutroniques en mesurant la distribution en énergie des neutrons produits. Dans ce but, le groupe DeSIs (IPHC, Strasbourg) développe un spectromètre neutron compact (télescope à protons de recul) pour la mesure en temps réel des neutrons entre 5 et 20 MeV, basé sur la technologie CMOS. Cette thèse a porté sur la caractérisation expérimentale et par simulation Monte-Carlo (Geant4) du système de mesure. Un logiciel d’analyse des données a également été développé pour la reconstruction des spectres en énergie des neutrons, puis appliqué à la mesure de faisceaux de neutrons mono-énergétiques auprès de l’accélérateur AMANDE (IRSN). Une étude préliminaire donne finalement des perspectives intéressantes à ce système pour la discrimination des modèles nucléaires utilisés dans les simulations Monte-Carlo, notamment en hadronthérapie, ainsi que des pistes d’améliorations pour élargir les applications de ce détecteur.</dcterms:abstract>
<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">Neutrons are one of the main secondary radiations produced by particle accelerators. They are also used in many applications such as imaging, radiotherapy or elemental analysis techniques. In all these fields, it is necessary to be able to characterize the neutron fields by measuring the energy distribution of the produced neutrons. For this purpose, the DeSIs group (IPHC, Strasbourg) is developing a compact neutron spectrometer (recoil proton telescope) for the real time measurement of neutrons between 5 and 20 MeV, based on CMOS technology. This thesis focused on the experimental and Monte-Carlo simulation (Geant4) characterization of the measurement system. A data analysis software was also developed for the reconstruction of neutron energy spectra, and then applied to the measurements of mono-energetic neutron beams at the AMANDE facility (IRSN). A preliminary study finally gives interesting perspectives to this system for the discrimination of nuclear models used in Monte-Carlo simulations, especially in hadrontherapy, as well as tracks of improvements to widen the applications of this detector.</dcterms:abstract>
