<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">La réalisation de cette thèse a été possible grâce au financement du ministère de l’enseignement supérieur, de la recherche et de l’innovation, au travers du Fond France-Canada pour la Recherche. Le but de cette thèse est d’étudier des systèmes supramoléculaires en vue d’accroître l’efficacité de la conversion ascendante de photons ou upconversion (UC). Le premier système étudié est constitué d’ions Tb(III) mis en présence de complexes d’Yb(III) selon le mécanisme de sensibilisation coopérative et a permis d’appréhender le processus d’UC. Un intérêt s’est ensuite porté sur des clusters nonanucléaires d’ions Yb(III) et Tb(III) qui confèrent une proximité accrue entre les ions. L’optimisation de ces systèmes a permis d’obtenir le meilleur rendement quantique (2.8×10-6 @ 2.86 W.cm-2) à l’heure actuelle à l’échelle moléculaire. En utilisant des clusters homonucléaires d’Yb(III), l’observation pour la première fois du mécanisme de luminescence coopérative avec des systèmes supramoléculaires a pu être possible. Une étude plus approfondie, permettant de confirmer la réalisation de ce mécanisme avec seulement deux ions Yb(III) a ensuite été réalisée, par l’utilisation de dimères d’Yb(III). Enfin, un assemblage entre des complexes d’Yb(III) et un complexe de Ru(II) a été synthétisé, résultant en l’observation de l’UC pour la première fois par transfert d’énergie d’un élément f vers un élément d.</dcterms:abstract>
<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">The realization of this thesis was possible thanks to the funding of the ministère de l’enseignement supérieur, de la recherche et de l’innovation, through the France-Canada Research Fund. The aim of this thesis is to study supramolecular systems in order to increase the efficiency of photon upconversion (UC).The first system studied is constituted of Tb(III) ions in the presence of Yb(III) complexes according to the cooperative sensitization mechanism and allowed to understand the UC process. An interest was then focused on nonanuclear clusters of Yb(III) and Tb(III) ions which confer an increased proximity between the ions. The optimization of these systems has led to the best UC quantum yield (2.8×10-6 @ 2.86 W.cm-2) at the molecular scale at present. By using homonuclear clusters of Yb(III), the observation for the first time of the cooperative luminescence mechanism with supramolecular systems was possible. A more detailed study, allowing to confirm the realization of this mechanism with at least two Yb(III) ions was then carried out, by the use of Yb(III) dimers. Finally, an assembly between Yb(III) complexes and a Ru(II) complex was synthesized, resulting in the observation of the UC for the first time with energy transfer from an f element to a d one.</dcterms:abstract>
