Il s’agit de la participation de l’être humain, dans la foi, à l’accomplissement de ce(lui) que Dieu l’appelle à être. Cette participation est ici décrite depuis une perspective singulière : la conception des pratiques religieuses élaborée par notre auteur. Sa conception de la réalisation de ce(lui) que tout humain est promis à être est d’abord expliquée. Le terme par lequel le théologien désigne la contribution humaine à cette œuvre est mis en lumière. Il s’agit du concept de don (ou d’offrande) de soi. Toutefois, celui-ci n’est pas davantage défini. Ce constat appelle à rassembler et à dégager des indications relatives à ce concept à partir de la vision siegwaltienne des pratiques religieuses. Ces éléments fournissent de quoi donner chair à celui-ci. In fine, la notion de don de soi (ou d'offrande de soi) est conçue comme le pendant anthropologique de la kénose du Fils. “First Christian, then human”. This phrase refers to one of the strong insights in the thinking of the theologian Gérard Siegwalt. It is a matter of the participation of the human being, in faith, in the fulfilment of what and who God calls him to be. This participation is characterised from a singular perspective: the conception of religious practices elaborated by our author. First, we explain his understanding of the realisation of what and who every human is promised to be. The term by which Siegwalt designates the human contribution to this work is highlighted. It is the concept of self-giving (or self-offering). However, this one is not further defined. This observation calls for the gathering of indications of this concept from the Siegwaltian view of religious practices. These elements provide a basis for elaborating a definition of this concept. In the end, the notion of self-giving (or self-offering) is conceived as the anthropological counterpart of the kenosis of the Son.
