<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">Des processus d’usinage performants sont nécessaires à la production de pièces mécaniques dans la qualité et le coût souhaités. La première variable matérielle d’amélioration du processus d’usinage est l’outil coupant, ce qui implique le développement, la production et la commercialisation d’une grande variété d’outils coupants et induit une complexité importante. Après une revue exhaustive de l’état de l’art pour gérer cette complexité, ce travail de recherche observe la réponse des fabricants d’outils coupants pour répondre à ces besoins. Une méthodologie originale pour résoudre par le haut la crise de la complexité en deux étapes en est déduite. D’une part un premier outil pour le pilotage des ventes en les corrélant avec le nombre de variantes proposées aux clients. D’autre part une définition de la complexité opérationnelle et un deuxième outil pour son pilotage. Cette méthodologie est validée sur trois études de cas, sa généralisation pouvant faire l’objet de travaux ultérieurs.</dcterms:abstract>
<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">High-performance machining processes are needed to produce mechanical parts at the desired quality and cost. The first hardware variable for improving the machining process is the cutting tool, which involves the development, production, and sales of a wide variety of cutting tools. This leads to a high level of complexity. After an exhaustive review of the state of the art for managing this kind of complexity, this research work observes the response of cutting tool manufacturers to meet these requirements. An original methodology for solving and mastering the complexity crisis upwards in two stages is deduced. Firstly, an initial tool for steering sales by correlating them with the number of variants offered to customers. Secondly, a definition of operational complexity and a second tool for steering it. This methodology is validated based on three case studies, and its generalisation may be the subject of further works.</dcterms:abstract>
