<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">Au cours des dernières décennies, d’importants efforts ont été déployés pour améliorer la précision chirurgicale dans le but ultime d’améliorer les résultats cliniques. En chirurgie oncologique, l’élimination radicale « en bloc » des cellules tumorales et la reconstruction gastro-intestinale correctement vascularisée représentent les principaux piliers visant à améliorer les résultats cliniques. Ces piliers visent à prévenir la récidive, à améliorer la survie sans rechute de la maladie et à minimiser le risque de fuites anastomotiques.</dcterms:abstract>
<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">Over the past decades, there has been a great effort to improve surgical precision with the ultimate aim of enhancing clinical outcomes. In oncological surgery, radical ‘en bloc’ removal of tumor cells and adequate perfused gastrointestinal reconstruction represent the main pillars to improve clinical outcomes. These aim at preventing recurrence, improving disease-free survival, and minimizing the risk of leaks.</dcterms:abstract>
