Ces deux phénomènes sont étudiés et redéfinis à la lumière des paradigmes actuels, d’une approche textuelle et de la critique historique. Cette approche permet de comprendre le rôle historique des pythagoriciens et du pythagorisme dans les espaces étudiés, ainsi que leur rapport à la production de la littérature orphique. Il apparaît que la résemantisation du pythagorisme permet son utilisation dans des processus de contacts interculturels. Il convient alors d’essayer de comprendre si ce phénomène, tout comme l’orphisme, a pu laisser des traces matérielles susceptibles d’être décelées par l’analyse archéologique. Il en découle une évaluation des anciennes interprétations relatives à différents contextes archéologiques qui montre que de nombreux travaux reposent sur une compréhension partielle ou biaisée de ces phénomènes. D’autres pistes interprétatives peuvent être explorées afin de faire ressortir les contextes où la thèse pythagoricienne est probable. The aim of this thesis is to take a historical approach to reassessing the influence of Pythagoreanism and Orphism in southern Italy and Etruria. These two phenomena are studied and redefined in the light of current paradigms, a textual approach and historical criticism. This approach makes it possible to understand the historical role of Pythagoreans and Pythagoreanism in the areas studied, as well as their relationship to the production of Orphic literature. It appears that the resemantisation of Pythagoreanism enables it to be used in processes of intercultural contact. We must therefore try to understand whether this phenomenon, like Orphism, left any material traces that could be detected by archaeological analysis. The result is an assessment of past interpretations of different archaeological contexts, showing that many works are based on a partial or biased understanding of these phenomena. Other interpretative paths can be explored in order to highlight contexts where the Pythagorean thesis is likely.
