En effet, la parole oraculaire qui ouvre le discours de l’apôtre Pierre à la Pentecôte annonce une effusion de l’Esprit saint qui concerne les hommes et les femmes. La forme de cette promesse, sorte de matrice programmatique de la généralisation et de l’universalisation du Souffle, va en effet réapparaître à huit reprises sous la forme générique « des hommes et des femmes ». Articulés à des péricopes mettant en scène des femmes, ces binômes vont à la fois scander les différentes étapes des missions pétrinienne et paulinienne et acter la reconnaissance progressive de la personne et de la parole des femmes, dans un jeu permanent entre explicite et implicite, révélateur des avancées et réticences de l’auteur.
