En s’appuyant sur la théorie des middlegrounds, cette recherche explore d’abordles éléments des espaces collaboratifs d’innovation qui stimulent l’émergence et l’essor de telsécosystèmes : Les lieux physiques, mais aussi et surtout les événements et dynamiques temporellesqui les animent. Par l’analyse approfondie de cas emblématiques, elle va plus loin encore etdémontre comment un collectif informel de passionnés, à travers la mise en oeuvre de communsd’innovation, de dynamiques sociales, symboliques, épistémiques, physiques et temporelles, peutréussir à catalyser, façonner puis orchestrer ces espaces collaboratifs d’innovation à fort impact. Basésur ces analyses, et en fusionnant plusieurs perspectives littéraires, dont celle des middlegrounds etdes théories émergeantes sur les communs d’innovation, cette thèse contribue à la littérature enproposant une conception élargie et unifiée de l’édification d’écosystèmes d’innovationperformants Economic decision-makers are doubling their efforts to develop high-performance innovationecosystems in terms of producing innovative companies and achieving social and environmentalprogress.Based on the middlegrounds theory, this research first explores the elements of collaborativeinnovation spaces that stimulate the emergence and growth of such ecosystems: physical locations,but more importantly, the events and temporal dynamics that animate them. Through an in-depthanalysis of emblematic cases, it goes further and demonstrates how an informal collective ofenthusiasts, through the implementation of innovation commons, social, symbolic, epistemic,physical, and temporal dynamics, can successfully catalyze, shape, and orchestrate these impactfulcollaborative innovation spaces.Based on these analyses, and by merging several theoretical movements, including themiddlegrounds theory and the emerging theories on innovation commons, this thesis contributes to the literature by proposing an expanded and unified conception of building high-performance innovation ecosystems.
