L’IG poivre de Penja, enregistrée à l’OAPI en 2013, est considérée comme un bien commun immatériel, auquel peut s’appliquer la gouvernance des biens communs d’Elinor Ostrom. La valorisation de ce produit a amélioré les revenus des producteurs, mais l’essoufflement de la gouvernance fragilise le modèle économique, démontrant le travail qui reste à faire. D’où la nécessité de réexaminer les déterminants de réussite d’une IG dans le contexte des territoires de l’OAPI.
The Penja pepper GI, registered with the OAPI in 2013, is considered an intangible common good, to which Elinor Ostrom's governance of the commons can apply. The development of this product has improved producers' incomes, but the lack of momentum in governance is weakening the economic model, demonstrating the work that remains to be done. Hence the need to re-examine the determinants of success of a GI in the context of OAPI territories.
