<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">La morphologie mathématique fournit des outils de traitement de l’image qui considèrent les images comme étant composées de régions connexes comportant des caractéristiques communes. Les structures dites hiérarchiques représentent les images sous la forme d’arbres des composantes connexes. Elles ont néanmoins une limitation commune. Une image naturelle de grande taille n’est généralement composée d’objets d’intérêt ne représentant qu’une faible proportion de pixels de celle-ci. Or les modèles existants représentent tous les pixels à la même échelle.Dans cette thèse, nous définissons une nouvelle structure hiérarchique baptisée arbres des coupes multi-échelles inspirée de l’arbre des coupes. Elle constitue une représentation multi-échelles de l’image sur le plan spatial en permettant aux nœuds de l’arbre de comporter des pixels à différentes échelles. Nous illustrons cette nouvelle structure sur des tâches de segmentation et de classification cellulaire sur des images histologiques.</dcterms:abstract>
<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">Mathematical morphology provides image processing tools which consider the images as being composed of connected regions having common features. Structures labelled hierarchical represent the images as being trees of connected components. Nevertheless, these structures have a common limitation. A large natural image is generally of objects of interest representing only a small proportion of all the pixels contained in the image. However, the existing models represent all pixels at the same scale.In this thesis, we define a new hierarchical structure called the multi-scale component-tree inspired by the regular component-tree. This structure is a spatial multi-scale representation of an image by allowing each node of the tree to contain pixels at different scales. We illustrate this new structure by tackling both cell segmentation and classification tasks on histological images.</dcterms:abstract>
