<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">La réplication virale nécessite des protéines codées à la fois par le virus et l'hôte, et conduit à la formation d'intermédiaires de réplication sous forme d'ARN double brin (ARNdb). Il s’agit d’une marque universelle lors d’une infection virale dont la reconnaissance permet l’activation du système immunitaire de l'hôte. Chez Arabidopsis, les ARN doubles brins viraux (vdsRNA) sont détectés par DRB4 via la voie du RNA silencing. Récemment, nous avons mis en lumière le rôle antiviral d’une DRB homologue à DRB4 : DRB2. Le mécanisme d'action de DRB2 a été étudié en conditions normales et lors d'une infection virale. Il apparaît que DRB2 interagit avec DCL4 dans la production de petit ARN (sRNA) endogènes, mais aussi de sRNA viraux. Ces résultats remettent en question l'exclusivité de l'interaction entre DRB4 et DCL4. DRB2 semble également capable de former des granules en condition de stress thermique notamment. Cette nouvelle propriété ouvre à de nouvelle fonction potentiel de DRB2.</dcterms:abstract>
<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">Viral replication relies on proteins encoded by both the virus and the host, resulting in the formation of double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) replication intermediates. These intermediates are a universal marker of viral infection and act as signals to activate the host’s immune response. In Arabidopsis, virus-derived small RNAs (vdsRNAs) are recognized by DRB4 through the RNA silencing pathway. Recently, we uncovered an antiviral role for a DRB protein homologous to DRB4: DRB2. The function of DRB2 has been analyzed under both normal conditions and during viral infection. Findings indicate that DRB2 associates with DCL4 to facilitate the production of endogenous small RNAs (sRNAs) as well as viral sRNAs. This challenges the previously assumed exclusivity of the DRB4-DCL4 interaction. Additionally, DRB2 has been found to exhibit a novel property: the ability to form granules and relocate to stress granules under thermal stress. This discovery suggests potential new functions for DRB2. Further studies are needed to delve deeper into its role in dsRNA recognition and its involvement in stress granules.</dcterms:abstract>
