Elle examine sa portée esthétique et l'empreinte idéologique de son émergence et de son développement, indissociables de l'espace frontalier dans lequel il s'inscrit, des communautés qui le traversent et des réseaux de pouvoir qui soutiennent le système frontalier. Le « théâtre des frontières » est conçu comme une forme de résistance face à un appareil de contrôle rigide, implanté dans un territoire multiculturel partagé avec le pays le plus puissant du monde, les États-Unis. Cette thèse confronte la dramaturgie du nord du Mexique à la postmodernité culturelle et au théâtre universel, à travers un ensemble de discours dramatiques, scéniques et politiques d'une grande importance pour les études culturelles et théâtrales, contribuant à la réflexion sur la pensée esthétique contemporaine et à l'interprétation des frontières. This research analyzes forty years of theater in northern Mexico (1980-2019). It examines its aesthetic scope and the ideological imprint of its emergence and development, which are inseparable from the border area in which it is based, the communities that cross it, and the networks of power that sustain the border system. The so-called “theater of borders” is conceived as a form of resistance against an apparatus of rigid control, located in a multicultural territory shared with the most powerful country in the world, the United States. This thesis confronts the dramaturgy of northern Mexico in the context of cultural postmodernity and universal theater through a set of dramatic, scenic, and political discourses of great relevance to cultural and theater studies, contributing to the reflection on contemporary aesthetic thought and the interpretation of borders.
