<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">Cette thèse propose une méthodologie innovante de caractérisation in situ des catalyseurs, combinant la Microscopie Electronique en Transmission (MET), la Spectroscopie d’Absorption des rayons X (XAS) et de l’imagerie hyper-spectrale plein champ XAS. Pour mieux comprendre la formation des phases actives lors de l’activation dans la synthèse d’oléfines à partir de Syngaz sur des catalyseurs à base de fer (Fe/SiO2, FeSb/SiO2 et SbFe/SiO2) et de la conversion du furfural sur un catalyseur à base de cuivre Fe-Cu/SiO2.L’approche multimodale développée, couvrant l’échelle atomique jusqu’à celle du lit catalytique, met en évidence plusieurs résultats originaux : la réduction de α-Fe2O3 en Fe métallique via une structure intermédiaire coeur-coquille FeOx-Fe, jusqu’alors inobservée. L’influence de l’ordre d’imprégnation sur la nature des oxydes d’antimoine formés lors du dopage de Fe/SiO2 par Sb. La proposition d’un mécanisme de formation de la phase active χ-Fe5C2 et la mise en évidence de son caractère surfacique. L’identification de particules Janus α-Fe2O3-CuO et leur démixtion en phases métalliques Fe et Cu lors de l’activation du catalyseur Fe-Cu/SiO2.</dcterms:abstract>
<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">This thesis proposes an innovative in situ characterization methodology for catalysts, combining Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS), and full-field hyperspectral XAS imaging. The objective is to better understand the formation of active phases during activation, in the context of olefin synthesis from Syngas over iron-based catalysts (Fe/SiO2, FeSb/SiO2 and SbFe/SiO2), as well as furfural conversion over a copper-based catalyst Fe–Cu/SiO2.The developed multimodal approach, spanning from the atomic scale to the catalyst bed scale, reveals several original findings: the reduction of α-Fe2O3 into metallic Fe via a previously unobserved intermediate core–shell FeOx–Fe structure; the influence of the impregnation order on the nature of antimony oxides formed during Sb doping of Fe/SiO2; the proposal of a formation mechanism for the active χ-Fe5C2 phase and the demonstration of its surface nature; and the identification of Janus α-Fe2O3–CuO particles, along with their demixing into metallic Fe and Cu phases during activation of the Fe–Cu/SiO2 catalyst.</dcterms:abstract>
