Les péridotites étudiées montrent un manteau hétérogène, avec un héritage ancien et des modifications syn- et post-rift. Les analyses géochimiques et isotopiques (Hf-Nd) permettent de distinguer plusieurs réservoirs mantelliques, identifier des épisodes récents et anciens de fusion partielle et d’interaction magma-manteau. L’ensemble de ces informations indique que la transition continent-océan est progressive, résultante de la surimposition d’héritage pré-rift, d’enrichissement/appauvrissement post-rift et d’interactions localisées avec des magmas intraplaques post-rift. Ces résultats mettent en avant le rôle du manteau lithosphérique sous-continental dans la formation et l’évolution d’une marge passive pauvre en magma, mais aussi comment celui-ci est transformé par les processus magmatiques liés à la mise en place de cette marge. This thesis characterizes the subcontinental mantle (SCLM) along the magma-poor passive rifted margins of the southern North Atlantic. The peridotites studied show a heterogeneous mantle, with an ancient inheritance and syn- and post-rift modifications. Geochemical and isotopic (Hf-Nd) analyses allow us to distinguish several mantle reservoirs and identify recent and ancient episodes of partial melting and mantle-melt interaction. All of this information indicates that the ocean-continent transition is gradual, resulting from the superimposition of pre-rift inheritance, post-rift enrichment/depletion, and localized interactions with post-rift intraplate magmas. These results highlight the role of the subcontinental lithospheric mantle in the formation and evolution of a magma-poor passive margin, but also how it is transformed by magmatic processes linked to the establishment of this margin.
