<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">Les marges riftées pauvres en magma montrent une grande variabilité et complexité qui, à l'heure actuelle, ne sont pas encore prises en compte par les modèles classiques. Le Sud de l’Atlantic Nord, notamment sa branche Est : le Golfe de Gascogne, est un bon exemple d’ensemble très variable de marges pauvres en magma et de manque de contraintes temporelles. Cette étude vise à trouver une démarche alternative afin d’apporter de nouvelles contraintes spatio-temporelles qui sont utiles pour comprendre l’évolution de cette zone lors de son ouverture. A travers une approche multi-disciplinaire, basée sur des concepts géologiques et des méthodes géophysiques, nous avons pu carter les différents domaines de marges riftées pauvres en magma et océaniques, revisiter les anomalies magnétiques considérés comme des isochrones, et nous avons pu proposer un nouveau type d’isochrone, basé sur un concept stratigraphique. Nous avons pu mettre en lumière une forte segmentation dans les domaines distaux et océaniques, et proposer de nouveaux âges de début et de fin d’accrétion océanique.</dcterms:abstract>
<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">Magma-poor rifted margins show high variability and complexity that are not yet taken into account by conventional models. The southern North Atlantic, particularly its eastern branch, the Bay of Biscay, is a good example of a highly variable set of magma-poor margins and a lack of temporal constraints. This study aims to find an alternative approach to provide new spatio-temporal constraints that are useful for understanding the evolution of this area during its opening. Through a multidisciplinary approach based on geological concepts and geophysical methods, we were able to map the different rifted and oceanic domains, revisit the magnetic anomalies considered as isochrons, and propose a new type of isochron based on a stratigraphic concept. We were able to highlight a strong segmentation in distal and oceanic domains and propose new ages for the beginning and end of oceanic accretion.</dcterms:abstract>
