Elle met en lumière les sources métaphysiques (Plotin, Hegel, Schelling, Ravaisson, Blondel), les impulsions théologiques (Balthasar, Rahner, Chapelle) et le rapport critique à la phénoménologie (Sartre, Merleau-Ponty). L’analyse propose une périodisation de ses travaux à travers des thématiques centrales et contribue à l’interprétation d’un corpus encore peu étudié. En fondant une ontologie du don inscrite dans la philosophia perennis tout en la renouvelant, Bruaire affirme que l’être humain est un être de don donné à lui-même, thèse aux conséquences existentielles décisives. Cette recherche met en valeur la fécondité de sa pensée dans divers champs récemment réactivés : philosophie de la religion, métaphysique, anthropologie, éthique médicale et théologie fondamentale. Enfin, elle confronte ses thèses sur l’« ontodologie » aux penseurs contemporains du don (Levinas, Ricoeur, Derrida, Marion, Hénaff, Ulrich, Tourpe, Capelle-Dumont), en clarifiant leurs influences et la novation propre de Bruaire. This dissertation is devoted to the work of Claude Bruaire, one of the foremost thinkers of the twentieth century. It highlights the diverse metaphysical sources (Plotinus, Hegel, Schelling, Ravaisson, Blondel), the theological impulses (Balthasar, Rahner, Chapelle), as well as his critical engagement with phenomenology (Sartre, Merleau-Ponty). By establishing a periodization of his writings around major themes, it contributes to the interpretation of a corpus still largely unexplored. Grounded in the logic of human existence, Bruaire inaugurated an ontology of gift inscribed within the philosophia perennis while simultaneously renewing it. His fundamental thesis—that the human being is a being of gift, given to itself—entails decisive existential consequences. This study underscores the fecundity of his thought across fields recently revitalized: philosophy of religion, metaphysics, anthropology, medical ethics, and fundamental theology. Finally, it confronts his theses on “ontodology” with contemporary philosophers of the gift (Levinas, Ricoeur , Derrida, Marion, Hénaff, Ulrich, Tourpe, Capelle-Dumont), clarifying both influences and conceptual innovations proper to Bruaire.
