L’homme occupe une place centrale dans la foi en un Dieu créateur et sauveur, au cœur de la tradition biblique juive et du christianisme primitif. Sa dignité, fondée sur son être créé « à l’image et à la ressemblance de Dieu », inspire une réflexion riche chez plusieurs auteurs des deux premiers siècles. Philon d’Alexandrie, héritier du judaïsme hellénisé, propose une anthropologie nourrie du récit biblique. Les premiers auteurs chrétiens, à la lumière de la révélation en Jésus-Christ, renouvellent cette compréhension en présentant l’homme comme créature restaurée. Cette étude montre comment le récit de la création fonde une anthropologie, où l’homme est composé de deux dimensions, intelligible et matérielle, et éclaire l’articulation entre création et émergence de la question de l’âme à l’aube de notre ère.
Umanity occupies a central place in the faith in a creating and saving God at the heart of Jewish biblical tradition and early Christianity. Its dignity, grounded in being made "in the image and likeness of God", inspired rich reflection among several authors of the first two centuries. Philo of Alexandria, heir to Hellenized Judaism, offers an anthropology shaped by the biblical account. Early Christian writers, in light of the revelation in Jesus Christ, renew this understanding by presenting the human being as a restored creature. This study shows how the creation narrative provides the foundation for an anthropology composed of intelligible and material dimensions, and clarifies the link between creation and the emergence of the question of the soul at the dawn of our era.
