Neue Musik : le concept de modernité en pays allemand après 1918 Neue Musik,the concept of modernity in German countries after 1918 Musique Pas de mots clés en anglais 780.9 Musique Thèses et écrits académiques Modernisme (musique) Thèses et écrits académiques L'expression de Neue Musik, apparue au début du 20e siècle en Allemagne et en Autriche, a été liée à l'émergence d'un répertoire et aux postulats d'une avant-garde. La suspension de la tonalité et le tournant esthétique accompli entre 1907 et 1910 ont exprimé l'aspiration à un champ expressif nouveau et ont été à l'origine de nombreux débats esthétiques au début des années vingt. Critiques et musicologues ont porté leur intérêt vers ce répertoire en en soulignant les critères déterminants et les principales tendances. Cette prise de conscience, qui a formé une phase constitutive de la modernité, a caractérisé les débats sur la nouvelle musique; elle a provoqué une confusion des termes et des concepts. La formation de nouvelles catégories et la réaction à l'esthétique romantique ont été liées à la volonté de rupture et au principe d'évolution  organique qui ont permis de définir les lois d'un nouveau langage musical. La parution de nombreux ouvrages a contribué à établir une terminologie et des valeurs, à renouveler le discours sur l'art, à développer certaines théories. Ces études ont décrit le cheminement chaotique et la fragilité institutionnelle de la nouvelle musique, ainsi que l'évolution de ce concept. The term of Neue Musik which appeared in Germany and Austria in the beginning of 20th century was linked to the emergence of a new musical repertory and ideas of the Avant-garde. The emancipation of the dissonance and the aesthetic of change around 1907 and 1910 have manifested the wish of a new expressive style and have given birth to many discussions in the earliest 1920s. Critics and musicologists were interested in this repertory and have analysed great characteristics and tendencies. This consciousness of modernity has characterized debates about new music but has lead to a confusion of terms and concepts. The production of new categories and the opposition to romantic aesthetic were tied to the will of rupture and idea of organic evolution. They served to ground laws of a new musical language. Many publications have contributed to build specific terminology and new values; they revived writings about art and contributed to amplify new theories. Periodical publications and books have reflected the chaotic progress of new music as establishment and his weakness as concept.
