Le compositeur grec Jani Christou (1926-1970) : approche musicologique et esthétique de ses oeuvres à partir de 1960 The Greek composer Jani Christou (1926-1970),musicological and aesthetic approach of his works since 1960 Jani Christou musicologique esthétique œuvres Pas de mots clés en anglais 780.92 Le compositeur Jani Christou (1926-1970) constitue un des principaux témoins de la pensée musicale grecque du XXème siècle. L'intérêt pour nous est de montrer la diversité des compositions des dix dernières années de sa production, son style personnel et l'esthétique qui en ressort, ainsi que l'approche de pratiques d'expressions primitives (ritualisation, sacrifice) par le biais de la  métapraxis  et le rapport qui s'installe entre l'art et la métaphysique. Pour faire le lien nécessaire avec la période étudiée nous présentons les traits principaux de la vie du compositeur en donnant également les caractéristiques essentielles de ces compositions jusqu à 1960. Ensuite nous analysons les œuvres majeures de la période qui nous intéresse (1960-1970) afin de montrer les techniques d'écriture et les idées extramusicales (très présentes chez Christou) qui régissent ses compositions. Notre but n étant pas de faire une présentation de sa production, nous partageons notre corpus entre l'aspect musicologique et l'aspect esthétique (philosophique) du compositeur tout en le situant par rapport à son époque et à ses contemporains. The composer Jani Christou is considered as one of the most important representatives of the Greek musical production in the 20th century. It is very interesting to reveal the diversity of his compositions during the last ten years of his life, his personal style and the resultant aesthetics, as well as the way he approached the techniques of primitive expressions (ritualisation, sacrifice) through metapraxis and the relationship which is being established between art and metaphysics. In order to comprehend sufficiently the period in question, first of all we will present the main events that marked the composer s life outlining at the same time the most essential characteristics of his compositions up to 1960. Afterwards, we will analyze his major works during the period that concerns us (1960-1970) in order to show the writing techniques and the extramusical ideas (very often in Jani Christou s work) that influenced deeply his compositions. Since we re not aiming to make a presentation of his musical production, our study will focus on the composer s musicological and aesthetical points of view, while we will try simultaneously to place these elements in connection with his age and his contemporaries.
