En l'absence de stimulus, l'anse décrit un mouvement rotatif libre (position ouverte). La fermeture du portail se fait par coordination simultanée des sites d'interaction placés sur la charnière et sur l'anse respectivement. Le premier chapitre traite de la réactivité des charnières seules. Le deuxième chapitre décrit un portail comportant un site monodentate sur la charnière et un site monodentate sur l'anse tandis que le troisième chapitre aborde la synthèse d'un portail comportant un site tridentate sur l'anse. Les mouvements d'ouverture et de fermeture du premier portail se font par l'ajout successif de cations Ag+ et d'anions Br -. Le deuxième portail n a pas encore montré sa capacité de coordination à un métal tel que le palladium. Mais, l'établissement de liaisons hydrogène intramoléculaires a été mis en évidence. This monograph describes the synthesis of a molecular gate. The design of the gate is based on a tin porphyrin, the hinge, bearing a coordination site oriented away from its centre, and a handle whose coordination site is oriented towards the hinge. As long as the handle swivels frely around the hinge, the gate is said to be opened. The closing of the gate occurs through simultaneous coordination of both interaction sites located on the hinge and on the handle. The first chapter deals with the study of the hinge alone. The next two chapters are devoted to the actual synthesis of two types of molecular gates depending on the denticity of the coordination site on the handle. In the case of the gate based on a monodentate site, the closing and opening processes of the gate are achieved upon addition of silver cation and bromide anion respectively. The gate based on a tridentate coordination site is in the closed position thanks to the establishment of intramolecular hydrogen bonds.
