<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">La Jeunesse Ouvrière Chrétienne (J.O.C.) est fondée dans le diocèse de Besançon en 1927-1928. À l'époque, les enfants des milieux populaires entrent à l'usine ou à l'atelier à la fin de la scolarité obligatoire, 13 ans. La situation de ces jeunes salariés, leur éloignement progressif de l'Eglise préoccupent certains prêtres dont G. Béjot, vicaire à Belfort. Les actions jocistes visent à améliorer les conditions de travail et de vie de ces jeunes. Pendant la guerre, malgré l'interdiction de l'occupant, la J.O.C. se maintient, résistant à la tentative de Vichy de créer une jeunesse unique, à la nazification des esprits en France.</dcterms:abstract>
<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">A group of the YCW started in the diocese of Besançon in 1927. At that time children from a working class culture started working at thirteen. The situation of those young workers and their growing lack of contact with the Church were a subject of concern for some priests, among whom G. Béjot, curate at Belfort. The actions of YCW members aimed at improving the working and living conditions of young workers. During the war, in spite of the occupying forces prohibition, the YCW remained stable, resisting Vichy s attempt to create a single youth movement and the nazification of spirits in France and in Germany at the time of the S.T.O. (compulsory work service). Afterwards the YCW will support young workers : associated with unions, it was characterised at the end of the period by a support to left wing political parties. The see, judge, act method leads to action because, during a meeting in which inquiries are analysed, the eye is sharpened by observation of the reality of everyday life confronted with the Gospel. It leads to deepening one s spirituality and involvement in unions, associations or political organisations. The transition from the "review of influence" to the "review of life" started in Besançon. A YCW member gave the initial hit, but the influence of Blondel s philosophy of immanence on young priests and on some of the teachers of the seminary gave G. Béjot the opportunity to build a YCW spirituality more receptive to the riches of the masses , namely to the deep resources of the people. Through the meetings of chaplains G. Béjot took part in the development of the new method, which gradually spread to the other catholic movements, including for adults.</dcterms:abstract>
