Les comités de recherche scientifique mondiaux n'ont pas encore élucidé l'ensemble des "mystères" concernant son étiologie, sa physiopathologie et son histoire naturelle. Au cours de ce mémoire, je présenterai dans un premier temps l'état des connaissances actuelles de l'endométriose (épidémiologie, théories cellulaires et mécanismes impliqués dans sa physiopathologie), étape indispensable pour comprendre l'intérêt des traitements médicamenteux non spécifiques actuellement prescrits. Dans un second temps, nous évoquerons les techniques de diagnostic disponibles), pour enfin nous intéresser aux nouveaux traitements en cours d'études (essais cliniques). Althought clinically encountered more than 4 millennia ago, endometriosis remains misunderstood, under-diagnosed and inadequately managed. The world's scientific research committees have not yet elucidated all the "mysteries" concerning its etiology, pathophysiology and natural history. In this dissertation, I will first present the current state of knowledge of endometriosis (epidemiology, cellular theoris and mechanisms involved in its physiopathology), wich is essential to understand the interest of the non-specific drug treatments currently prescribed. Secondly, we will discussthe diagnostic techniques available (and soon to be available), and finally we will look at the new treatments currently being studied (clinical trials).
