Résumé(s) : A few words from the author: Striving for a career in the field of project management with an international focus, I will be soon a postgraduate in ‘International Project Management’ from the University of Strasbourg in September 2023. For the last semester of my Masters’ program, I had to do a mandatory six-month internship. I carried it out from February 2023 to August 2023 employed as a Project Management Intern at the French factory of Liebherr Mining Equipment in Colmar. This thesis will present to you and discuss how an innovative, well-structured, and yet creative Adoption Strategy will help in the success of any project. In our case the definition and the implementation of a Project Management Organization at Liebherr Mining, and the many changes that it will bring. The paper will also recount you the adventures of a young project management professional who explores the role of adoption leader in driving meaningful changes within an organization. Drawing on a choice of theoretical and empirical evidence, I will argue and prove that a creative and an innovative adoption strategy is a critical factor in achieving successful project management roll-out. The study will examine the factors that influence adoption, taking into account individual behaviors and attitudes, organizational culture and external drivers such as market forces, competition and partner companies. It will highlight the numerous challenges and barriers as well that can impede change from happening, and how adoption can offer strategic solutions to overcoming them. Finally, the thesis will conclude that a high focus needs to be put on adoption as an essential tool for creating a sustainable and impactful change in an international company that can benefit individuals, and society as a whole. With these last words, I would like to wish a pleasant read, a fun one but also give you some food for thought.
