Description : Management du Tourisme, In the last few years many changes have been noticed in the meetings and conventions industry. On one hand the new technologies have changed the way of organizing and experiencing meetings and on the other hand a new kind of attendees has emerged represented by the Millennials as they are now a big part of the workforce and represent the future clients of the MICE industry. These advancements have to be taken into account by the event planners and they need to constantly innovate and introduce new tools in order to attract the new generation of attendees. On the basis of these recognitions this study aims to analyse how event professionals are taking into account the main trends affecting the meetings and conventions industry and it starts with their understanding of the needs of Millennials and how to use the new technologies in order to create new experiences for delegates. In order to do a thorough analysis both qualitative and quantitative data were gathered. The results revealed for example that the generational belonging is taken into account by event professionals but still does not form the heart of their strategy. Moreover regarding the new technologies there is obviously a new demand and Millennials are the first ones to expect technological features during meetings on top of the basic needs like internet and WI-FI. They are currently looking for interactivity and networking opportunities as well. The new technologies have many advantages but still need to be part of a real strategy in order to help meeting organizers to be able to manage them properly. Last but not least the cost stays an important point but people seem to be willing to pay more for high-level performance., Thèses et écrits académiques
