Description : Operational and Strategic Marketing, 1.1. Where is our business “Sunflower” is based in Strasbourg in an industrial zone named “Espace Europe en de l’Entreprise” near the Rhin which is the 1st commercial river of Europe in connection with the Port of Strasbourg, second French fluvial port. We decided to start our business in this city because all the founders live there but first of all because it is a dynamic city with large universities where more than 46.000 students are living and studying in 2017. Young people are our major target and the city offers a lot of opportunities to build our business. 1.2. Where we want to take our business First of all, by promoting our product in France with the Apple Inc. we want to dismiss the iPhone’s polemic lack of battery and persuade that sun power is a sustainable alternative. Then, we want to create a community of solar phone case users in France to make them sensitive to the environmental issues by offering them a solution to be actor of planet preservation. We want to show to our younger customer that they can be actors of sustainable development by using their iPhone and keep be connected. Because one of our major target is young people we want them to express their identity with the customization of their iPhone but also by creating events and projects that can help others young people in the world that don’t have the same chances in their life. For our expansion abroad, we think that we have to make the young people conscience of why we are proposing a natural unlimited source of energy for their smartphone, the core of our project is the preservation of our planet. By the creation of a humanity association to help young people all over the world we want to create solution to use solar energy for biggest project like solar panels in school or hospital. Finally, we want to have a worldwide activity divided by international segments to offers specific product according to the place we serve but also to the amount of sunshine of each area and why not find an alternative in countries were the sunshine is specific like in Finland or Island. 1.3. Why our business idea is successful More than the unlimited utilization of the smartphone, our business can change the mind of our customers about the sustainable development because is easy to use and by using our product each one is an actor of the planet preservation. A lot of issues and polemics have been created with the smartphone battery (explosion, foreseen obsolescence…) and smartphone producers like Apple or Samsung were responsible of those fails. With the solar phone case it will be no more problem of battery lack. Moreover, the smartphone market is on expansion and in France, more than one French people over 11 years old is equipped with a smartphone. In 2016, 1.48 billion smartphones were sold worldwide. The sale of smartphones has thus grown by 38.4% compared to 2012.
