Chirurgie dentaire Le diabète et la maladie parodontale sont toutes deux des pathologies chroniques avec une forte prévalence qui s’entretiennent mutuellement. De plus on sait qu’un patient qui bénéficie d’un traitement parodontal, donc un bon suivi parodontal peut prétendre à une meilleure stabilisation de son hémoglobine glyquée, et donc de son diabète. C’est pourquoi il est aussi intéressant de voir comment réagit le parodonte d’un patient diabétique atteint d’une parodontite chronique suite à un traitement parodontal. L’objectif de ce travail bibliographique est d’observer l’influence du diabète sur l’efficacité du traitement parodontal. On va donc étudier si les chances de succès suite à un traitement parodontal varient selon si l’on soit face à un patient diabétique ou sain, ceci afin de mieux évaluer le pronostic d’un patient face à un traitement. Ainsi dans une première partie, nous allons aborder les effets du diabète sur la maladie parodontale, et les marqueurs étudiés permettant d’évaluer l’efficacité d’un traitement parodontal. Puis dans un second temps nous évaluerons comment le diabète impacte sur l’efficacité du traitement parodontal. Diabetes and periodontal disease are both chronic, high prevalence conditions that are mutually supportive. Moreover, it is known that a patient who benefits from periodontal treatment, therefore a good periodontal follow-up, can claim a better stabilization of his glycated hemoglobin, and therefore of his diabetes. That is why it is also interesting to see how the periodontium of a diabetic patient with chronic periodontitis following periodontal treatment reacts. The objective of this bibliographic work is to observe the influence of diabetes on the effectiveness of periodontal treatment. We will therefore study whether the chances of success following a periodontal treatment vary according to whether one is facing a diabetic or healthy patient, this in order to better assess the prognosis of a patient in front of a treatment. In the first part, we will discuss the effects of diabetes on periodontal disease, and the markers studied to evaluate the effectiveness of a periodontal treatment.
